Fees

BSA Registration

BSA (Boy Scouts of America) registration is always open. Pack 31 requests all registrations with BSA be completed online

These funds go straight to the national BSA organization and do not support Pack31's operating costs. These registration fees allow Pack31 to be charted with the BSA organization and provides cover of essential services. These services include program resources, liability insurance for approved Scouting activities, youth protection background checks, and local council operations and resources (campground maintenence, administration, and more).

BSA’s registration fee is $80 for one year. That's $6.67 per month.  A $2 insurance fee is assessed covering liability for scout events.

New in 2024, registered members will be personally responsible for their annual membership renewal. You will be made aware of the current membership expiration and asked to renew for the next year online.

NEW MEMBERS

New Members apply and pay online. If you have never been a registered scout with BSA before, a one time $25 new member fee is assessed.  Therefore, all members new to BSA will owe $105.

REGISTERED ADULT LEADERS

BSA is a volunteer operated organization. Pack 31 cannot charter with BSA unless we meet a minimum requirement of registered adult leaders. Your time leading is counted for school family service hours. The steps to be a registered leader include completing the diocesan "Protecting God's Chilren" course as well as BSA's requirements found here. The fee is $45 annually. The $25 new member joiner fee also applies. (Fee covered by Pack Dues)

Pack Dues

Pack dues remain with the pack.  The pack must have access to funds to provide a robust program.

Initially, some of the dues will be used to cover adult leader registration because we are grateful for their dedication and investment of time.  Dues are also used for 1) handbooks 2) neckerchiefs 3) hiking stick 4) adventure loops 5) awards 6) patches 7) religious emblems 8) campsite reservations 9) supplies for fall and spring campout 10) catered meal and supplies for Blue and Gold banquet 11) derby trophies, and other agreed upon costs that serves the pack.
